The COVID-19 pandemic profoundly impacted the lives and livelihoods of all Nevadans. These impacts were especially pronounced among the state’s most marginalized communities, including racial and ethnic minorities, sexual and gender minorities, lower-income communities, and individuals living with one or more chronic conditions. While the immediate effects of the pandemic have lessened, many of the disparities it exposed and exacerbated continue to persist. The lessons learned from COVID-19 should inform how we prepare for and respond to future public health emergencies, with a focus on equity, resilience, and community engagement. To support individuals, families, and organizations, we encourage you to explore our resources, including community toolkits, guidance on coping during a pandemic, and information on identifying and addressing health misinformation.
